I know Scott has already posted about the great Buddy Holly on this 55th anniversary of his death, but, well, this just killed me. Not the performance of "Peggy Sue" - I mean, it's perfect. But no, the intro he gets in this 1957 clip of his appearance on the Arthur Murray Dance Party is just priceless. With all the Patrician haught one can imagine:
"Now no matter what you think of rock-n-roll, I think you have to keep a nice open mind about what the young people go for. Otherwise the youngsters won't feel that you understand them."
Oh sell it, sister!!!
Man, was he great, huh? Wow.
